Today I visit an area of London called Little Venice and the lagoon. It is an old junction between two canals, the grand union canal and the Regent canal. I start at Warwick Avenue so I can visit Clifton Nurseries garden centre and get a coffee at the quince tree cafe. However Paddington station is also very close to Little Venice. A short walk from Warwick Avenue to Camden Lock, in Camden Town, along the Regent's Canal or Grand Union Canal in North London. ABOUT ALPHATUCANA I mostly do gameplay playthroughs on easier levels of difficulty for beginners, some (hopefully) intelligent vlogging about current affairs, science, money and philosophy, and a few sightseeing videos of London and our holidays. Do subscribe if you like what you see! POSTING SCHEDULE This depends in part on whether I have had time to record videos in between going to work and living the rest of my life! Usually it runs like this: - Sat & Sun: a video at midday and 6pm (UK time) - Tues & Thurs most weeks: a video at midday - If I have something extra to post it usually appears at some random time :) SUBSCRIBE! http://www.youtube.com/subscriptio...
LONDON, Regent's Canal: Let's go for a walk along this very busy, but very popular with boats canal, the Regent's Canal here in London. Regent's Canal is a canal across an area just north of central London, England. It provides a link from the Paddington Arm of the Grand Union Canal, just north-west of Paddington Basin in the west, to the Limehouse Basin and the River Thames in east London. The canal is 13.8 kilometres (8.6 miles) long: Vic Stefanu, email@example.com
Many new boat owners get their boats dropped in at P&S Marine, near Watford. Usually they are heading for London to live, so the first (or perhaps its the last) question they ask is, 'Which way to London?'! Ralph, one of the owners of P&S Marine (https://www.facebook.com/pandsmarinellp/) is usually a helpful nice chap, but on this occasion he was playing up for the camera! :) This is an hours trip towards London from Cassio Bridge to Lot Mead lock, near Rickmansworth. There are a couple of breaks in recording due to length limits on my camera, and it cuts off a bit sudden as I ran out of space on the SD Card :( Also apologies for the over exposure to start with, the sun was playing about all day...
Time-lapsed canal cruise between Little Venice and the zoo on the Regents Canal, London. This was part of day one of our holiday on the Caracruiser this year. She got a lot of attention in the middle of London with a lot of people taking pictures! Please excuse our inability to travel in a straight line, it's a feature of the boat! Pike Lock Boat is a 1970s caravan-boat hybrid known as a Caracruiser. Within it's small 15'6" hull it contains two double beds, cooking facilities and a toilet! Music by Chaotix and Doctor Vox
Road cones, shopping trolleys, even a bath tub - they have all been found on the bed of London's Regent's Canal. It is the first of a number of canals in England and Wales to be drained ahead of vital restoration work. It is a huge task that has involved draining the equivalent of 14 Olympic swimming pools.
London Canal Party: Canalival on Regent's Canal SUBSCRIBE: http://bit.ly/Oc61Hj This London canal party on water was supposed to have been called off due to health and safety fears - but it seems these London canal party goers didn't get the memo. Hundreds ignored the official cancellation to hop aboard their dinghies and enjoy 2013 Canalival on Regents Canal in London. A narrowboat, complete with a booming sound system, led the inflatable flotilla along London's Regents Canal. The crowd set off from Gainsbourgh Studios and slowly drifted east to Hackney before partying into the evening. The event was generally good-natured but the earlier cancellation meant there was a lack of adequate facilities, local homeowners said, and some complained about littering and rowdiness. However, judging...
Canalival 2013. This unofficial floating carnival lit up Regent's Canal in London on 1 June 2013. The flotilla began under New North Road in Islington meandering to Broadway Market in Hackney. A ban on Canalival 2014 is being debated due to backlash over the event's effects on wildlife and the community.
